FIRST STEP IN FIELD OF HACKING

In order to start Real Hacking, you don't have to search for shortcuts. The best thing is doing practice again and again and learn about different languages about which i will be explaining in the upcoming tutorial. So in most of my Hacking Tutorials, We will be using Backtrack 5 R3 or Kali Linux Latest versions for Hacking purposes as most of hacking in the world is done using these. But it is better to use Kali Linux Updated version as it is equipped with latest tools and exploits and can be used for applying latest techniques, as well as it is also equipped with all the tools of Backtrack (generally Kali is an updated version of Backtrack).
All other tools that will be required will be discussed as we approach ahead.

INSTALLING KALI LINUX/BACKTRACK

There are different ways to install Kali Linux on your PC because it is based on Linux and cannot be installed simply in any operating system. Here we will discuss two most commonly used and accepted as best methods of using Kali Linux on PC. (Next Method in upcoming tutorial)

Kali Linux using VMWARE:

In this method Kali is installed in a virtual machine inside Operating system such as windows 7, windows 8. So you will be able to handle both tasks of Kali as well as your own operating system at one time. We will be using VMWARE as virtual machine because it is free to use for individual purposes.

Step One:

First we need to download Kali from https://www.offensive-security.com/kali-linux-vmware-arm-image-download/  . If you have a 64-bit capable computer, then select 64-bit Kali Linux else select 32-bit.(All these images are custom versions which only works properly using VMWARE, so these are to be used only by VMWARE).
Expand the drop down menu’s to find the version you need. Select the 64-bit version only if you have a 64-bit computer. You can download direct using your download manager or using Torrent.
Now download Vmware Player, a free virtual machine manager that can be downloaded from www.vmware.com .

Step Two:
When Kali has finished downloading, open VMware Player and click Create a new virtual machine.

Step Three:
In the window that opens, select Installer disc image file (ISO) and browse to the location of and select the Kali Linux ISO file that you just downloaded.
Once you have selected the file, click Next.

Step Four:
In the next step, select a name for the virtual machine. I’m going to name it Kali Linux for this tutorial. You also need to select a location for it, I recommend creating a new folder and then selecting that location. Then click next.

Step Five:
Next step, you need to select a maximum size for Kali. It is recommended that at least 30 GB’s disk space is selected as Kali tends to expand over time. After you’ve entered your desired value (no less than 20 GB) change the next option to Store virtual disk as a single file and click next.

Step Six:
In the next window, we need to customize some hardware settings, so click on the Customize Hardware button.

Step Seven:
You will now be presented with a Hardware window. In the left pane select Memory in the left pane of the window, and slide the slider on the right side to at least 512 MB*. This is for performance. Since I have 8 GB of RAM on my computer, I’m going to put it at 2 GB’s (2000 Mb’s).
You should give a virtual machine a maximum of half the RAM installed on your computer. If your computer has 4 GB of RAM, then the max you want to slide it to be 2 GB. If your computer has 8 GB, then you can go to a max of 4 GB etc.
Now highlight Processors in the left pane. This option really depends on your computer, if you have multiple processors, then you can select two or more. If you have a regular computer, with two or less, then I suggest leaving this number at one.

Step Eight:
Moving on, click on Network Adapter in the left pane. On the right side, move the dot to the Bridged (top) option. Now click on the Configure Adapters button. In the small window that pops up, uncheck all the boxes except for the one next to your regular network adapter and hit OK.
You can now click on Close at the bottom of the Hardware window and then click on Finish in the Wizard.

Step Nine:
After you click Finish the window will close and the new virtual machine file will be added to the VM library. Now all we have to do is start Kali! To do this, highlight the name of the newly created virtual machine by clicking on it, and click Play virtual machine in the right pane. Kali will be started for first time.

Step Ten:
So that’s it. Just after you start Kali, it will ask for password. The default password is toor.
So my dear Aspiring Hackers, that’s how we use Kali Linux using VMWARE.

The method explained above is really simple. If you are not getting it from the Text Above then you can see the tutorial by CBT Nuggets below. It is for Installing Backtrack (Almost Similar for Kali Linux).
